Stephen Gillman
Co-Owner, COO

Stephen Gillman is the chief operating officer of United Services Group.  He co-founded United Services Group in 2013, bringing more than 38 years of process industry expertise, leadership and executive management experience to his role within the company.

Currently, Gillman oversees the operational backbone of United Services Group and its subsidiaries.

Before starting United, Stephen spent 11 years at Wachs Services as Vice President and later President.  He joined the company in its infancy and shaped it into a profitable company. Upon arrival, Wachs had never experienced a profitable year.  Along with the losses, customer satisfaction and sales were dismal.

He spent the next four years, building out a new management staff and bringing on bright and upcoming welding, machining, quality and safety managers to help with departmental restructuring.  He also helped rebrand Wachs into a turnkey contractor.  He was able to bring on new customers and while repairing fractured relationships with their current clients.

Building the company from within, Stephen was able to steer the company out of their deficit and into profitability.  Throughout his 11-year tenure, he grew Wachs Services from a $5 million dollar a year company to a continuous $60+ million dollar a year annual revenue company.

Prior to his Wachs success, Stephen began his career at Stone & Webster and later The Shaw Group where his hard work was rewarded with continuous advancement.  He worked as a construction supervisor and later promoted to Site Manager.  He oversaw projects in the nuclear, fossil and petrochemical industries.

In 2013, Josh Armstrong and Stephen Gillman saw a shift in the contractors in the industry.  They decided to open United Services Group to fill the gap created and to provide a culture of service excellence.  This excellence would be built on quality craftsmanship performed safely.

In 2015, they expanded their operation to include pre- and post-weld heat treating services along with their initial services: welding, machining and manpower support.
